A Campaign Regulating Food Safety Was Launched
With a focus on human health and security assurance in fields of food, veterinary and phytosanitary an information campaign on the reforms implemented in the sphere of food safety has been launched. The State Service for Food Safety of the RA Ministry of Agriculture is standing behind it with the support of the “LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT IN THE SOUTH OF ARMENIA” Project implemented by the “Strategic Development Agency” NGO and financed by the “Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation”.
Since the campaign was launched, the following activities have been performed: informative video clips created, materials printed and meetings held. The overall goal is to present the new procedures for the transportation of bread, pastry, meat and milk, as well as to announce about the issuance of sanitary passports (valid for 12 months), that are to state the sanitary conditions of the transporting vehicles.
Public awareness events will be held on an ongoing basis and will help business entities to produce safe food and consumers to become more informed and protected.
Watch the videos about the sanitary passports for bread and meat transporting vehicles, the slaughterhouses and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system.
